"Listen, whatever you see and love - that's where you are." -- Mary Oliver, Dog Songs: Poems

Training Feature: Listen. Look. Love. Sing.

Sometimes in life we need to pause and take time to buddy up with someone who can be our champion or a second pair of ears, to listen to our hearts, hear us out, offer a new perspective, build connection, and find community.  Before we know it, a whole new world of love and learning can then open up for us.

Fresh beginnings await us around every corner, if we know where to look.

This also applies to us if we want to begin our singing journey, or add something new to our vocal toolkit, but may not be feeling sure of ourselves. Will I or won’t I?  We may feel like fresh little puppies, wide-eyed and inexperienced, peeking over a fence into big, tough territory that appears daunting to us.

As adults we may sometimes think that by age X, Y, or Z we already know what we want to know and starting something new – especially music-related – may be too late for us or is just too much work!

But you see, the beauty of learning to sing is – like life – an ever-evolving process of joy and creative discovery, no matter how old we may be.  We just have to make a start.  We only learn and grow when we dare to examine and go beyond the boundaries of whatever may be holding us back.  Perhaps you may consider that all you need is a little nudge from a friend?

Be Free To Sing has worked hard to create new opportunities for adults with or without singing experience to learn and build upon their singing skills, based on the Bel Canto methodology.  Take a look at what you can learn, engage with music, keep up your spirits, and find companions in song:
